If I have apple care on my ipad3 and bring it in, would I get a 3 or 4 in return? If 3, you think apple would trade them out for 4's when the new iPad comes out? Thanks.

Apple still has original iPhones (from back in 2007) available for out-of-warranty and battery swaps.

I wouldn't ever expect a trade-up to a different model, unless they have a serious shortage of replacement parts. It's happened before, but sounds very rare.

At the store near me they have to order them. They don't keep them in stock.
