Microsoft "the new" office

Microsoft taking another page out of Apple's marketing book. They will be marketing Office 2013 as "the new Office"

So what will they call the version of office AFTER the new office? TBH this naming scheme is a bad idea, and only creates confusion... Keep it simple guys

Product naming roadmap:
  • Newer Office.
  • Even Newer Office.
  • Still Newer Office.
  • Office Neue.
  • Office Neue, Part Deux.
  • Not Necessarily Newer Office, But Still Better.
  • Still Newer Office, But Not Necessarily Better.
  • Newer Office, With Bacon, Sausage, and Spam.
  • Spam, Nearly Newer Office, Spam, Eggs, and Spam
  • (Vikings sing here)

You'd have thought they'd have learned this lesson long ago when Apple released the 'new' iMac and the later 'new' iPad.

Oh well, I await the 'new' Xbox.

Its because Office 365 is a service rather than software.
