Microsoft Word - Arabic Support?
When typing Arabic in Microsoft Word or TextEdit, it types from right to left which is grammatically correct, but it does not conjoin the characters (like cursive) as it is supposed to. Typing proper arabic characters is possible in iTunes, Safari, Pages, but not Word. Is there any way around this?
Microsoft Word 2003 for Windows conjoins the Arabic characters, but so far my cousin has failed in getting Word on her iBook to type it properly. Any help? She's leaving tomorrow and I need to get this fixed - because I was the one who convinced her to get an iBook. I'd hate it if she regretted the decision. But then again, she'd be having oodles more problems with a Windows laptop. ![]() Help! |

I highly recommend you get Mellel for her. It conjoins Arabic letters properly.
http://www.redlers.com/ It'll be among the best $29 or $39 you'll have spent on your cousin's Mac. The alternative is Nisus Writer, but Mellel compares well to it.

TextEdit seems to conjoin the characters just fine here.
