Greetings all,
Question regarding aforementioned iMac's. I have an opportunity to pick up a mid-2010 2.93 Ghz i7, Radeon 5770 1 GB, 16 GB RAM and 5 months left of Apple care. The alternative would be a brand new 2012 i5 3.2 Ghz, 8 Gb RAM (I'll upgrade later myself), nVidia GTX 675 MX 1 Gb. Obviously if I go with the used 2010 model I give up Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 but I save myself almost $1200. Main use would be photoediting with Lightroom and Photoshop.
My question is for my purposes, would the 2010 iMac suffice? Should I be worried about Apple Care running out and then having screen or hard drive issues which that generation of iMac's had -- costly to fix??
I like the idea of buying a brand new Mac, knowing it's history and having 3 years of Apple care but the 2010 is $900 and looks to be in great condition based on the pics I've seen of it.
Any input?
Thanks,
