How can you use the filter function on gmail apps

Is it even possible on any of the existing apps?

I need to put labels on emails.

Use the gmail iOS app that google makes. You can add labels with it.

Yes with gmail iOS app you can easily create labels and manage it...

Yes, by creating labels we can easily manage our mails with iPhone native gmail app.
