Thanks for the reply. I just wanted to know since the rule of thumb in jailbreaking is that if you pay or if they ask you to donate for the jailbreak, it must be a scam.

If they ask for payment first, yes - good indicator of a scam.

However, in the last few years, some of the hackers have provided donation accounts for those who appreciate their work.
I recommend never donating until after they release a tool and it works to your satisfaction.

Yea I usually wait to donate but we know these guys are legit.

But for sure, NEVER jailbreak to a jailbreak team/developer with no track record. Even then, waiting until the final product is released is fair too.

Edit: I wouldn't read too much into the calendar date, since it looks like it says Thursday. 3rd is a Sunday.

Lol you can read the day of the week? I would say by the length of it and because I think I can make out a "W" that it would be Wednesday if anything.

But surely the number is what counts, if anything.

Last year, we had hints and tweets regarding the jailbreak progress before the 4S even dropped. Then it took until January.

This year, they didn't really tease or hint at anything until January, and we will see the jailbreak within a month of that.

oh, yeah i know. i jailbroke my iphone 4 and ipad 2 when i first got them and, like you and many others, have been patiently waiting for an untether jb for 6.x.

i just didn't know if new exploits included new ways to take advantage of the device (deeper customization, new Siri hacks, etc.) or if the exploit was just the exploit and it didn't matter if you had 4.1.1, 5.1.1 or 6.1, your jailbreak was the same.

Someone should suggest to them to release different platforms in stages to keep traffic consistent and not overwhelm. OSX early!
