Actually, people gave very good reasons why this donation was no big deal. But facts and republicans never seem to mix.

You're making assumptions and misrepresenting the donation. It's unlikely that he would have personally taken leftover campaign funds. From politico..

This was a campaign donation, campaign money if not used to pay back debate or given back to the donors is very limited in use. It can't be used personally by anyone, it can be donated to other political campaigns or it can be donated to charity, which is a write off after all. This really isn't anything out of the ordinary for campaigns to do after an election with their left over money.
