Which USB 3.0 Hub for (late) 2012 iMac

Hi all, i would like to know if anyone had experience in using/owning any of the 4 brands i have in mind? Any comments will be appreciated

I like that it has 2 ports in the back & 2 in the front , I can put it right under my monitor so I can plug in an external DVD drive or a flashdrive without reaching in the back of the mini

Is this a powered USB hub? Need a hub for my time capsule so i can attach 2 external harddrives and printer.

Any update here? Been wondering which USB3 hub to get with my late 2012 iMac as well. Worried about which chip set is inside each hub, which one is going to be more mac compatible, and which one is going to give us the best speeds.

Most of my hard disk are from LaCie, plus i just bought a LaCie blu ray writer so i'm very inclined to buy this http://www.amazon.com/LaCie-Hub4-USB.../dp/B004EPSLD0

but the reviews so far hasnt been great so was wondering if anyone else have used this before.

This has been discontinued by LaCie and uses an older VIA VL810 chipset.

Probably better to stick with one of the other, newer designs from other vendors that use the VL812, ASMedia, or TI chipsets.

I like the look of this one: http://manofmany.com/tech/satechi-4-...minum-usb-hub/ but it's 2.0. The company's facebook page says they'll be releasing a 3.0 in the same style soon.

Satechi is anticipating a release date of March 30th.

Most people vote for the silver colored hub but I like black or white one the best.

only problem I can see with that hub is if you're using wide plug ins, it will block the port next to it, like with the macbooks.

i Wonder when it will get released i cant find any more news on it. Seems like there is nothing but problems from usb hubs, hopefully this one is a gem

I'm using Anker Uspeed USB 3.0. Small, compact, good performance... just look at the reviews on Amazon you will see.

I haven't seen any. Even daisy-chaining my monitor's USB hub to it.

Hmm… any problems with sufficent power to the devices or devices dropping offline?

I think this slim profile hub sacrifices on the power it can supply to the attached devices (5V at 2.5A). The slightly bulkier one (Anker® Uspeed USB 3.0 4-Port Hub + 12V 2A Power Adapter) can supply ~2x the power (12V 2A) and so can power more external hard drives, charge iPad, etc.

At the product's Amazon page under "Most Helpful Customer Reviews" Comparison between the two USpeed/Anker hubs details this more clearly.

** I'm running out of USB ports on my Mac mini, so I'm starting research on a good reliable USB 3.0 Hub. (2 external drives, wired keyboard/mouse). Still running on OS 10.6.8 (does this OS support USB 3.0)? I see the product descripts all recommend upgrading to OS 10.8.2+ for some USB 3.0 fix. This old Mac mini probably only supports USB 2, but I'm planning for future upgrades.

I have no experience with it but when I go to buy one that's what I will get. As a laptop trans-hub that looks totally primo! I've been (casually) reading reviews and watching prices on it for about 6 months now.

is this truly made of aluminium? The previous version was just paint. How well does it match your mac? Any issues so far?
