Wifi being incredibly slow

Hi, I have an iPhone 5 running iOS6.1. Up until recently the wifi has been fine but now it's taking forever to download new apps and music.

It's not just on my connection, it's been happening at my girlfriends as well.

Any ideas?

Go to wifi , click on your router, go all the way down to HTTP proxy and set it to auto. Let me know how that helps you

Seems to have helped a little, certainly on my connection. Not really noticed a difference on the girlfriends one yet, dunno if that would be down to her connection .
