While trying to change my password with Apple Help the username was lost. We've tried to reboot, but since there is no user, I can not reboot. Anyone know how I can get my compute back? This is on my IMAC with the Tiger system. I was trying to upgrade to Leopard.

You will need to enable the root user by booting to the Install DVD and opening up the Password Reset Utility. In there you should be able to reset the password for System Administrator (root). This enables the root user.

Once you have logged into the root user see if the home folder of the other account still exists in /Users/. If it does you should be able to recreate it within System Preferences.
