I thought I might post about this in case it points to a situation that might help people understand about image retention. Not that I understand it, but hoping someone can shed light.
About a couple of weeks ago I noticed that there was an image faintly visible of my main IDE, which probably is on the screen for long periods of time. The "chrome" and widgets of the program were faintly but clearly visible.
This image lasted for several weeks. But now it has faded so much that it is barely perceptible, if it is even there at all.
So this would be a case of an image that persisted for a very long time, but gradually fades. Is this a known phenomenon?
