Hi all,

I'm looking to free up disk space on my Macbook. I have tons of photos that I really don't use everyday. What is a good set up to relocate all my photos to an external drive? Is it pretty much just find the file folder and drag it onto the new drive, while it's mounted on my Macbook? Would I need to install Snow Leopard or iPhoto onto the external drive? Am I overthinking this? Thanks in advance for your help. :D

Also, you could create a second iPhoto library for those photos that you don't use everyday.

How do I do this? Say I want a new library that only has photos from 2013, and my other library is everything prior to 2013...

Also, how can I back up the external drive? Get another external drive, and mount both on my macbook at the same time and back up one to the other?

Thanks for the help!
