Problem with display

Hello, my son changed the display settings some how. He was using minecraft. Whatever he did, changed the display settings so that I cannot see the screen well. The colors are messed up and the letters are partial. I did not have the time machine activated. Would anyone have any ideas how I can go back to the default screen settings? Thanks, paul

What Mac do you have?
Have you tried System Preferences > Displays and changed the resolution to its original resolution?

Have you tried pressing CTRL and scrolling via mouse wheel or two fingers on the trackpad in a downwards direction?
