Flip case the best way to keep dust out?

I read a few topics about over time dust is collected up under the home button. A man dismantled it and found an atrocious amount of dust wedged in there.

Would a flip case be the best option for this? as when it's sitting it could collect dust. Although I don't see how that amount of dust can get through such a tiny gap. But also I have a loose home button which I've debated over replacing it. But the nearest apple store is in another country. flip case?

I don't think you can make such generalizations about any type of case unless it's a completely sealed case. Flip cases aren't all the same. Some are going to offer better dust protection than others.
