deer god, it's 2005 and we're questioning wheather or not kids should have acess to computers 24/7??

Yeah their gonna use em for games & chatting as well as school work, but last time I checked you can doodle in a note book as well, maybe we should ban paper?

I thought the article was positive and as a 13 year old kid said "It's just the truth. Some kids just aren't ready. Most kids, though, are ready. It helps more kids than it hurts them."

So it seems that the laptops are useful, but the real question here is "Are Apple iBooks second time around?" Cue the politics and the sale stampede.

I see the laptop program as benefiting students, but for the price it makes it an iffy situation. I'm not sure a 1-to-1 setup is necessary to make good use of computers in classrooms. I think they should try to find other forms of funding to keep the laptops in use though. Maybe have more bake sales, haha, among other fund raising ideas.
