Looking for somehting thats solid and sturdy. There are so many on ebay. I have also seen ones that go into your air vent, your cigarette lighter and some that stick on.

Anyone inout would be appreciated !

thanks

I use this Kensington mount and it works very well with my iPhone 5. Nice and sturdy. What I really like about it is that there are a couple hinges at the bottom that you can use or tuck away just in case you wish to plug in an audio cable. The mount has retractable sides to hold any type of phone with any case. This mount should last you a long time.

By the way, I do not use the suction or air vent clip. I attached this mount to a bracket I bought earlier. This gives me a nice sturdy mount and peace of mind.

I love ProClip, and I think most people are going to agree. They're about as secure as you can get. You have to buy a mount for your car, and one for your device though, so it gets pricey. But until you get a new car, you never need a new car mount. And they have mounts to fit almost any situation. And, as you can read in my post here, their customer service is amazing.

Best Car Mount for iPhone 5?
Define "best". Don't just assume that your notion of best is universal and include a budget. If you're looking for a mount that securely mounts your device I'd also recommend ProClip but expect to pay a fair bit for them. The vent mounts, cigarette lighter, adhesive and suction cup mounts are all compromises when it comes to securely mounting your device. That said, plenty are happy with them. You have to determine what you want and what you prefer.

If you have a cd slot and you don't use it, then use the Mountek nGroove Universal CD Slot Mount.

Sturdy and well made, can swivel from portrait to landscape easily.

maybe you can try to search on other websites, like Amazon, bestbuy, or any other shopping stores.

Excellent advice, I expect he had not though of that. I might try that myself next time I wish to purchase something.

i have a mountek and love it, it slides into the cd slot (which i never use but you can have a cd in it and use it simultaneously with the mount), for my car it sits at at a perfect spot for viewing.

How about RAM mounts? Anyone have any experience with them? The X mount is a universal that looks pretty intriguing to me

Breffo Spiderpodium Mount

I use the breffo spiderpodium in my car as you can see in the photo below. I'm taking the photo with my phone :) but it is very very multi-functional and can be used for so many more things than just a car mount, due to the bendy-ness you can also shape it around your phone to use it in landscape as well as portrait.

It also looks very neat in the car vents rather than the mounts that leave the visible circle on your windows!!

I have the Proclip and it works great. Nice and solid.

I just installed this in My Ford Focus this weekend. I was a bit dubious that it would cause damage, but it's in okay and things look alright. Took it for a road test and no issues at all. I like the fact I can use it with my leather flip case. It looks a little bulky but I guess I will get used to it. No tell tale circles on the windscreen hinting at the Tom Tom in the glove box which is a big plus. I can also connect it to the charging wire (you can buy built in but it gets a little pricy if you already have a charging solution) and my stereo. Also because it's much nearer to my mouth I can use the speaker for a quick call when I've left my Jawbone assassin at home.

Easily the most useful iphone accessory I've purchased. And the part that holds the phone is perfect, it's not clunky and overly large like other mounts you see.

http://usa.just-mobile.com/iphone/xtand-go-1.html#.Uetuv2SxMs8

The "dots" are a great idea. I have all three installed in various spots around my dash, and just move the mount around depending on what I need. The mount can be tightened to where it's 100% stiff and will NOT budge at all, and with the slick built in tool, can be adjusted to whatever you want.

Plus, it makes for a really good desktop stand with the suction cup (which is also one of the best-designed suction cups I've seen).

Coming from somebody who spent $100+ on various solutions, I HAVE to recommend this mount.

Seems like removing your device with just one hand is a bit of an issue...that's my biggest peeve on many of these mounts, need to be able to quickly remove it with just one hand and without looking.

----------

I bought the new Airframe from KENU..
http://www.kenu.com
Works great, simple, stays put and is visible. Check it out at the website above.
I like the first one so much, I bought a second for another vehicle. :):)

I bought this one too but finally gave up on it, in my case my aircon vents louvres are too thin and the airframe easily slides from side to side when trying to remove it, tried both grips with no luck.

Thanks for this, just checked out this video on YouTube and placed my order, looks like a winner http://youtu.be/PzZx3bGvvk4
