How to transfer notes itouch 3 to 5 or new Imac?

Short of e-mailing myself over a hundred notes is there any way to transfer my notes from my itouch 3 to my new imac (bought last week) or new itouch 5 I'm about to buy?

Apparently the problem is that apple has changed the way it deals with notes since my Itouch 3.

It will all be saved in your backup. You need to do a backup from the 3rd and use it to set up to 5th. If you don't connect to iTunes very often it's easy to forget about this.
