MacBook Is frozen

PLEASE HELP!!! I was updating my MacBook software, the computer automatically turned off and started the update. Well, the update process bar was stuck in the same spot for several hours so I turned off my MacBook and turned it back on. Now its stuck on the white start up screen. Does anyone have any advice?
