I've been wondering if this setup would work:

First thunderbolt port: Thunderbolt display, connected to thunderbolt HDD, connected to a Cinema display (or Thunderbolt display + Thunderbolt display)

Second thunderbolt port: Thunderbolt display or Cinema Display

HDMI port: crying in the corner

Now, I've looked online and I don't see anyone with this setup, but I think it should be possible. We've obviously all seen a lot of people running 2x 2560x1440 displays, either two Thunderbolt displays daisy chained, a thunderbolt + HDD + Cinema display chain on a normal Macbook Pro 15" with only one Thunderbolt port, or two displays on the two Thunderbolt ports on the Macbook Pro Retina.

So, anyone have a link to someone doing this?

This leads me to believe it would be possible - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaE5SlpsaVo

4x external displays on a Macbook Pro Retina (2x Thunderbolt on one Thunderbolt port, 1x 27" 1080P on second Thunderbolt port, 1x 27" 1080P on HDMI port). What would happen if he dropped the two 1080P screens, and used the second Thunderbolt port for a Thunderbolt or Cinema Display?

So no-one have any idea? I guess I'll need to round up some displays and test it out!
