iPhone -1 error

Hi iv got a -1 error on a 3gs on 6.1 i read somewhere it corrupt baseband chip, some site said use a blowtorch on the baseband chip inside can repair this but is there any other fix at all??
 
I got a -1 error and just restarted the computer and unplugged the device and plugged it back in again and it worked.
