I'm looking to replace my IPOD 4th generation click wheel's dead hard drive. Can you give me some guidance on the most reliable online stores that you have done business with, in addition, how likely will the hard drive be a new one if it is listed as new, is there any method to check or know if it is new?

So far the cheapest one I have found is:

Gadgetmenders at $15

Next IDemiGods at $32

http://www.iDemiGods.com/iPod_20GB_Hard_Drive_MK2004GAL_p/20gbhrddrv_mk2004gal.htm

Both list the hard drives as new

I'm fairly certain it is the hard drive that is the problem. In the cold snowy weather, the Ipod shut down and I got the folder icon screen, plugged in the wall charger, Ipod starting getting hot, I tried a Menu/Center button reset, the folder icon screen went blank, and nothing else has worked, opened it up, unhooked the hard drive, put back in, nothing, then I took out the ribbon cable underneath the tape and put back in, nothing.

One more question on that ribbon cable, I'm hoping I put it back in properly, I'm guessing you don't have to be perfect, just align it properly and press back in?

Thanks for any help you can give me, I'd like to keep this Ipod as long as possible.
