iMovie and iPhoto crash on launch

Hi,

This is my first post so bear with me as I am a bit of a mac newbie.

Firstly I am working on a Macbook 13", Late 2008, 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2GB ram. Running Mountain Lion 10.8.2. iMovie 9.0.8 and iPhoto 9.4.2

The issue that I am experiencing is that when I try to open iMovie or iPhoto they both crash on launch.

This is a fresh install of everything from a network build.

I have been searching forums trying to find a solution for the past 2 days , hope someone can help!!!!!
