I checked same configuration around where I live and it says available in store April 2 .

Where does OP live?

OK, to provide some useful info, Apple Stores have had the i7, 8GB, 1TB Fusion, Geforce 680 $2599 model in store for several weeks around the Seattle/Bellevue area. I've no doubt other states/areas have the same.

Yes this this correct. when my NON Fusion version failed on day 2 after delivery, and I had to take it in to the Apple store near me, they replaced mine with a Fusion Drive version that was in stock... I was not leaving the store with out a replacement or my original... they could have advanced shipped it... (but 720p looks ugly)... I looked online before i went to the store last week and it showed late march delivery to the same store... best bet might be to call before you go...

Great....where?

It was in Massachusetts store.

Called couple more stores around me, they call it "advanced" model with 27 inch i7 1Tb fusion 680mx. All of the had it in stock 2-5 items per the store. I want 3 Tb fusion drive, so, still waiting for my in store pickup.

I just volunteered this info, since a lot of people are waiting for this config. delivery.

You voulenteered the info to help others out but it did not occur to you to mention which area/store it was? You know there are ~250 Apple stores in the US, spread out across a nation that is 9.8 million square kilometers? Right?

:p

Yup. Apple stores all tend to stock the most popular CTO configurations of all of their machines. The 27" iMac with the 680MX and the 1TB Fusion drive is such a configuration. So expect it to be stocked at most Apple stores, if not every Apple store.

Actually -- some stores do stock the i5's -- called around my area and one store only has i5's -- this is the NJ area.

I've not heard of the Apple Store stocking the i5 + fusion + 680MX. Interesting. You sure that's not just one of the cheaper models?

I cant remember which i5's they had -- but when i kept asking specific information for the models they have the guy on the phone eventually said "we have all the 27" models in stock. So either the guy got lazy or was accurate -- still doesn't hurt to call ahead :)

Right. Well as far as I'm aware, the i5 the Apple Store stocks is not the fusion/680 GPU, is what I'm saying. I'm not saying that Apple Stores don't stock the i5 27" at all! :)

Apple Store only carries 3 models. They're something like..

High End - i7, 3.4, 680, 1TB Fusion

Mid End - i5, 3.2 1TB (no fusion)

Low End - i5 2.9 1TB (no fusion)
