Assuming by AUD you meant Australian dollars, $1,999 AUD is basically $2,050 USD. Now considering (presumably) they are the same price, the second option sounds better as it has a 512GB storage. I'm also assuming the processor is better as you didn't list the CPU specs for the first option.

15" is quad-core compared to dual-core 13"

Well what are your needs and most intended uses (i.e. which applications and processes)?

If you need 512GB storage, go for that. If not, the 15" will be the better machine in practically every way.

15 all the way. not that much bigger then the 13 but a way better experience if its your main computer.

I have a 09 27" imac which is going good with the new HD and a extra 4gb ram, its just so hot in my office. If i go MBPr 15" i may keep it for a extra screen. Or was thinking selling it for the base 3.2 27" iMac.

My main uses are mail, web, iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie,tv, movies.
