My daughter is 8 and wants to begin publishing a weekly newsletter for her class at school. She wants to do as much of it herself as she can using my hand-me-down MacBook. Does anyone know a simple to use program that we could use to create a kid-friendlly newsletter? Thanks you.

I would just have her use Pages, which is only $10. In Page Layout mode, it works quite well for your needs. Microsoft Word will work too.

I know that Pages (and probably Word too) comes with lots of templates that would be a good place to get her started.

I agree with the Pages solution. My wife does a simple 2 page weekly newsletter for the parents of her students. She started with one of the standard newsletter templates and I helped her modify it slightly and she's been using it for 2 school years.

I'm sure you can do the same thing for your daughter. At let me commend her on her effort!
