Two User Accounts, problem solved.

Together with fast user switching it takes seconds to change from one to the other User Account.

To make a new User go to Users & Groups in the System Preferences, make your wife's one (also) an admin account.

Also there in the Users & Groups is the checkbox to switch on fast user switching under login options.

When using two accounts, can iPhoto and iTunes libraries be shared?

It is when you use two separate Apple ID accounts and/or two separate email accounts.

You want to use different AppleIDs for iCloud but a single id for purchases from the app store and iTunes.
