Macbook full battery charged before turned off, back on no battery

I charged my macbook before bed and it said 100% before I powered it off and disconnected from charger. In the morning I turned my macbook back on and it's at 20%. This has happened twice. What is the cause for this?

I'm a rolling stone.
Hard way to tell, but you should look inside the logs on your Mac, this wwill tell you what was up at night time, you can open the logs with Console, an App that resides in Applications/Utilities.
