Do you think the iPhone 5s will be 32/64/128 GB?

The iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4 were available with 8, 16, and 32 GB storage.

The iPhone 4s and 5 are available with 16, 32 and 64 GB.

Do you think the 5s will be 32/64 and possibly 128 GB, or remain 16/32/64?

Post I think....

if Apple can accomodate the 128 GB chip without important space/design constraints, that would be the upper deck (with a hefty premium $$). But still, I cant see the 16 GB option dissapearing

I would hope the iphone 5s (& ipad 5) goes to 32/63/128 options. iPad 4 has 128gb option, so I can see it happening soon - just hope it's the next line up because I have been waiting to upgrade my iPhone for ages.

16gb is just not enough. Throw some apps on there and you can only fit a bit of music on after which is just annoying because I like to have at least 50% of my music on a device at a time. (Which is why I have a higher capacity iPad)

I think it still will be 16.32.64GB. Enough for personal use.
And today, you can also use iCloud to help you to store your content.

I'm yet to fill a phone with 32GB so it doesn't bother me how big they go.

considering they are trying to push people to the cloud, they will keep starting it at 16gb. Personally, I use an 8gb nexus 4 with 5 gigs remaining.

As much as I would like to see able make a 128GB iPhone, I don't think it will happen. The demand for 128GB in a phone just isn't enough to justify it.

In Apple's defense,I think it is great that they moved the iPad 4 up to 128GB. The trend in Android devices seems to be to move to see storage in order to force people to buy streaming subscriptions which use a lot of data.

No, I don't believe it will be.

That being said, if 128gbs were offered I would buy one instantly.

I don't see it happening for a while..

For me personally, I think 64 GB suits my needs.. I never even get close to filling it.

On one hand, they will need all they can to entice upgraders.

On the other hand, even smartphone casuals, and even some power users, like myself, don't need more than 16GB. They'd be foolish to lose the profit margin.

As long as smartphones have expensive, tiered data plans then there will be a need for greater storage. Streaming a single movie on Netflix could cost you $20 in overages. Not only that, but more and more people are using their smartphones as their primary camera and video recorder when they go on vacation.

However, I'm not sure we'll see 128GB with the 5S. Maybe the 6.

The Samsung Galaxy 4 is supposed to come in 32/64. Until Apple feels pressured to keep up, I don't see much chance of them going to 128.

I think they'll still keep the 16/32/64 thing going for the iPhone.

But my dog is disagreeing, he's votes bacon.

Depends on who you ask. You can't just assume that your usage defines what works for everyone else out there. There's never such a thing as "too much space".

You have apparently never bought an HD movie from iTunes. I think Skyfall takes up 6GB. If Apple wants people to carry movies around and play them on each Luther's ATVs, there is no such thing as too much storage.

iCloud helps, but how long does it take to download a 6GB file? My uncle uses a cellular hotspot for all Internet at his house, so that would never be an option there.

Storage will always need to move upward. If storage gets cheap enough, Apple will offer better quality audio and video on iTunes purchases.

CMIIW but current android devices (S3, Note 2, etc.) support 64GB microSD. I have 80GB Note 2 and paid $650 for it.

New Contracts & Hardware Upgrade pricing aside, I can't believe people after paying $700+ for a 16GB. At 128GB it will cost $1,000?!?! LOL

16gb will be the starting point. There is no need for apple to cut their profit margins by raising their cost for the lowest capacity model.

I'd be willing to bet money that a lot of people don't even know the capacity of their phone or have forgotten. I'm not talking about people on forums but the average consumer. They go into the Verizon store, ask for an iPhone or other phone of their choosing and leave. I doubt capacity plays a big factor for most people. They'll just get whatever is cheapest.
