It's a miracle. I thought I would never solve the problem, and then I found this helpful article on Apple's site. My life will simply never be the same.

Very funny, everyone...

But this is because the iMac G4, you were supposed to carry by the arm that the monitor was on. The iMac G3 had a handle. The iMac G5's arm isn't strong enough to support it, if it were moved like an iMac G4.
