I can set "kFSCatInfoPermissions" for the whichinfo field when using function FSGetCatalogInfo() and FSSetCatalogInfo(). But this routine is only supposed for Max OS X.
The following info is from the system header file:

UInt32 permissions[4]; /* permissions (for Mac OS X) */
....
};
On Mac OS 9, if I try to copy the file from one mounted UNIX volume to another one, the file permission seems to be missing.
Any help would be appreciated !
