Witcher 2 - rmbp 10.8.3 performance?
Can someone test the Witcher 2 (OSX version) with the new 10.8.3 released yesterday and tell us impressions? Is the game playable now and in what resolution and gfx options?
Would appreciate if someone can help me out I want to buy the game, but I want to see if it is worth it or not. PS: I am referring to the 15" retina of course. Last edited by Valkyre; Mar 15, 2013 at 07:49 AM. |

I don't have a retina MacBook Pro to test on but you should give the specific details you're considering. The 13" and 15" are very different with regard to gaming performance.

I am talking about the 15" model of course, wouldnt even consider the 13" since it doesnt have a dedicated gfx card.

Ive just installed the update and tried Witcher 2 on OSX.
There seems to only be a marginal increase in performance compared to 10.8.2. I use 1440x900, textures medium and everything else disabled. There is still a lot of texture pop-in and slowdowns in battles. At a guess I would say it was around the 30FPS mark for these settings and during certain battles it must dip to below 15fps I wish there was a way to see the actual FPS in OSX. But same settings in windows gives me 50-55fps and very smooth gameplay.
