Tritton surround sound on Mac

hi im looking into buying the tritton pro+ 5.1 surround sound headset or the tritton 720+ 7.1 surround sound headset and i was just wondering before i buy it, will the surround sound work on mac? because ive heard of other headsets with surround sound only have the surround sound audio work on the pc but not the mac, will this be the same problem if i buy any of these?

You'll need a TOSLINK to Mini-Optical adapter for both the Tritton Pro+ and the Tritton 720+ headphones.

Thanks Guily but if i use the adpater and it does connect to mac, will the surround sound work on the mac too aswell as normal audio?

Yes, if you play stereo, the headphones will output stereo as well.

but will you get the surround sound experience? or just normal stereo audio?

If you play surround sound stuff, the headphones will give you a surround sound experience.

If you play stereo stuff, it won't, because there's only a left and right signal.
