iPod Touch 5 not Restoring after Updating

hey guys, first post here


theres probably a thread somewhere on this but ive been searching around and couldn't quite find my situation.

I decided to restore my iPod today, and as i expected it made me download and update the newer iOS software. So after about 3 hours of downloading it finally updated it and never restored it. I went to click "Restore" again and all it did was made me download the software again. I was confused so I let it download again (for another 3 hours) and after it finished it was just stuck in recovery mode.

now whenever i try to restore it, it makes me download everything again. It even says my iPod is up to date so i know it downloaded.

All I know is i'm stuck in recovery mode and it will not restore my iPod. Any help?

Try putting your iPod into DFU mode.
