Hope there is a solution to this - this should not be normal:
when I connect my 1920x1080px external monitor to my MacBook Pro 15" HiRes from 2010, the fans start to turn up to about 3500 RPM. I'm using a Mini Display port to VGA adapter.
It seems the MacBook is constantly running on the dedicated Nvidia GT 330M with 256 MB GRAM.
I already cleaned the fans and I'm doing nothing on the computer. No apps, no browsing. As soon as I disconnect the display, the fans turn down.
So.. is this normal? What should I do?
