Battery Life

If I fully charged my ipod touch every other day how long would the battery life last,because when it refuses to hold the charge I will buy a ipad I am fed up with constant charging I have only had this ipod just over a year.

The info below is from Apple, and says you can expect 400 full charge/discharge cycles.
