iPod 5th gen
A few days ago I got some random email from apple saying that my account had been changed and that it was a good idea to change my password. So I did. But now I'm unable to update my app assfault 7 heat. It keeps saying unable to update. Please help.

That doesn't sound good. Did the email include a link to a new webpage? It could be a phishing scam. Time to check your credit card for unauthorized expenses... It's possible you just gave your login and password to a 3rd party and they have now locked you out of your own Apple ID.
It's also possible that it has nothing to do with it. You could also try deleting and then reinstalling the app.
