Hi, I have some over-the-ear headphones plugged into my macbook pro, but there is a static-y noise in the left ear... unless I have my hands resting on my computer.
No, other weight doesn't work, I thought this at first but after putting a few heavy objects on the keyboard, I realized it was something else. I've finally narrowed it down to having skin on the computer = no static.
Other things: It is connected to my notebook via a monoprice dual male headphone connector, and if I touch the connector (metal parts) the noise goes away as well.
If I remove the power source for my laptop, the noise gets louder.
Helllppp! I cannot deal with this, if I don't have any music/tv/noise playing, it is annoying as hell.
