My wife's 2007 Macbook with a G/N card gets 52Mbps wirelessly, and a Windows laptop with a B/G card gets the same. My iMac 2Ghz Intel Core Duo with B/G gets max. 21Mbps. Whats happening?

Some of the main causes for degraded performance.
- Distance
- Obstructions causing interference
- Radio interference (2.4Ghz house phones, other WiFi networks on same channel)
