My brother recently encountered a problem with his 6th generation ipod nano, which he has owned for over a year now. The "volume up" button no longer works, and rests much lower than the "volume down" button, as though it were loose or something is wrong with it mechanically on the inside.
I suppose we'll have to get some earbuds with built-in volume controls so he can actually listen to the thing for now, but can the iPod itself be fixed? If it can be repaired, how difficult is the process? I glanced at a few guides online and it looks pretty complicated and likely that we'll break the thing rather than fix it.
