Is there a way to lock the ringer switch? The button accidentally switches off when I put the phone in my pocket, even with my Otterbox case on it.

You might want to take it to Apple and have them look at it.
It should be that easy to switch off and on.

EZ enuff.

Cut a piece of rubber, just the right size. Stick it in there.
