A good hex/color picker app?

What is a good hex number/color app, that could be set to say specifically web colors, but also can pick colors while open in windows you are in? Also, are there any out there that show "themes" or colors that are complimentary?

Adobe Kuler

try this https://kuler.adobe.com

you can browse submitted 'themes' or create your own via a base colour here https://kuler.adobe.com/#create/fromacolor

(it doesn't allow you pick from other windows though - you could use DigitalColour Meter built into your mac and set to display in RGB)

Colour picker app

A friend recommended Colour Contrast Analyzer (http://www.paciellogroup.com/node/18?q=node/20) which, whilst also providing hex references also suggests decent readability/legibility contrast ratios for text/backgrounds. Always found it very useful and it's available (for a small donation) for both Mac and PC.

COLOURlovers for the themes, http://www.colourlovers.com/palettes/search

Frank DeLoupe for color picking, http://jumpzero.com/frank/

No web color support option though.

Except why would you use 'web colors' when there are no devices out there anymore that can only display an 8-bit color palette?

While I'm not a huge fan of any color-picking app (and I've tried a few) I do use Frank DeLoupe.

The most outstanding feature of Frank DeLoupe is it puts the sampled color directly in Photoshop's foreground color.

Very handy.

Exactly why I love it too. I used to put Photoshop to one side, and then use the picker outside of it to get a color I wanted to use.

Wow! I'd never heard of Frank DeLoupe. Looks amazing - and I'll definitely have to pick that up.

I tend to use both Adobe Kuler and Spectrum a lot.

Yeah, it's a pretty awesome little app, and a pleasure to use.

Just picked up Frank Deloupe and Gradient, both by Jumpzero. Absolutely amazing little apps. So glad I found out about them.
