So first my screen cracks randomly..
and now I insert my sims - doesn't recognise it and splits it out
went to burn a playlist from itunes onto a disc - insert a blank disc (same type works fine on my mac desktop), and itunes still says insert a blank disc and splits it out.
:-(
I can't afford to travel to get it looked at, and I need my computer for uni, it has my current project on it and all bits related to it :-(
I believe in the system preferences this is all correct:

EDIT: I've rang apple up, they asked me to do two rests and the problem is still occuring.
I'm angry as it used to read discs fine, then one night it got so hot, the next day I opened it up and the screen was cracked. Thinking back since then it hasn't recognised discs either.
