EA Voted Worst Company Because of Anti-Gay Conservatives?

Quote:
In the past year, we have received thousands of emails and postcards protesting against EA for allowing players to create LGBT characters in our games. This week, we're seeing posts on conservative web sites urging people to protest our LGBT policy by voting EA the Worst Company in America ... If that's what makes us the worst company, bring it on. Because we're not caving on that.
- Peter Moore, COO of EA.

Thoughts? Discuss.

How about you provide thoughts as opposed to merely continually finding inane things on the web and then deciding to start a thread on them and then telling everyone else to talk about it?

How about also providing links to get it all in context and not tailored snippets.

Last time I checked, this is the section for 'Political, Religion, and Social Issues'.

EA has done some stupid stuff (Sim City anyone?) but they are not the worst company in the world, especially not when we have big banks and oil companies more deserving of the award.

Forgive my ignorance...but how is your reply in any way responsive to dukebound85's post???

He asked for your thoughts and for the link to the article part of which you quoted, and you told him what the forum name is...

Things like this are hard to prove, but it's definitely doable.

If so, it's absurd.

Although I'd have to admit, there's slightly more insane things like Chic-Fil-A supporting killing gays and treating them second-class citizens.

Chick-fil-a supports killing gays? really? or treats as second class citizens? I know they are pro-marriage and all but that is quite a leap

Once again, source for such a bold claim?

Um...confused again...

You quoted my post, but the best I can tell, you didn't respond to it.

Did I miss something?

Chic-Fil-A lobbied Congress to support Uganda's Kill The Gays bill.

According to that link:

Quote:
The Tony Perkins-led FRC said it did lobby on the bill... ...to change the language it contained and to remove sweeping and inaccurate assertions that homosexual conduct is internationally recognized as a fundamental human right.
So now they're against fundamental human rights.

Well that's really helping your case.

I wasn't aware I was stating a case

I merely provided a link that stated that Chick-fil-a was not supporting killing gays as you had claimed

It is one thing to be pro-marriage, as they are. It is another thing to advocate killing gays, as you claimed, which was false

Only for that link to state something equally as bad.

As I'd prefer you not derail this thread and make it off-topic, do you have anything to contribute regarding the main post?

me not derail?! you are the one that provided the claim to which I responded to. Who brought up a false claim about Chick-fil-a? it was you, not me

Might want to edit your post to remove your statement that Chic-Fil-A supported killing gays, now that you've been enlightened.

Back on topic, the only reason I personally would say that they are a bad company is because of how they mistreat their employees, mainly software developers.

Have you ever seen a PRSI thread stay on topic?
Speaking of which, how 'bout them Cubs?

If you want to stay on topic. What do "Best of" and Worst of" lists really mean. Who's the greatest guitar player? According to whom? What criteria? What style of music? Time period?

Publicly voted lists are usually held in lower reguards then "Expert" lists because of the lack of controls and activist groups trying to hijack a vote. Frankly, the fact someone from EA even commented on this is surprising.

Just because Peter Moore, the moron of a COO, says something doesn't mean it is true. The reality it comes down to is people hate EA, and EA treats people like ****. Sure there are worse companies, but EA does deserve this award. Do you think exxon mobile would give a **** if they won? Probably not, but it sure is funny to hear EA bitch.
