Well, hate to say that I did a comparison test tonight.

I put up my 1.33ghz 14" ibook right next to my 1ghz powerbook Titanium.

Uh.

Well.

Even though I LOVE the iBook. I mean LOVE. On it right now, even.
But the Tibook screen is brighter (it's nearly three years old) sharper, and all around better quality. Just as fast, too, by my rough calculations.

In fact, I'm going to take this iBook in to make sure the screen brightness isn't a problem.

That three year old powerbook blows my sweet little iBook out of the water.

However, I do love the iBook for writing. Taller screen, lower resolution is actually better for my Word writing purposes.

Having these two computers is a nice balance, I do have to say. (On its way is a 1ghz 12" ibook for travel. I think the 14" iBook will be too large unless I need it for work while on the road.)

Anyway, it was just a spur of the moment comparison. I am sure the newer PBs, but not quite as Machine Age -- Industrial cool in style as the Titanium PBs, also kick iBook butt. But I still love the iBook, don't know what to say but my solution is to have both.
