help getting Tor and Privoxy setup for use on a LAN

hi all,

i've just become interested in using Tor and Privoxy.

i've downloaded Tor and used the installer. i setup 127.0.0.1:8118 in the Network Preferences under Proxies. then i applied the changes and went to Safari... i got a "503" error from Privoxy.

Your request for http://www.ippages.com/ could not be fulfilled, because the connection to www.ippages.com (127.0.0.1) could not be established.

i've read up a bit on it, in the FAQ - and it mentions something about properly configuring the config file - but i didn't see anything about that in the ReadMe. 😕

also i'm on a LAN behind a router and a PC running ClarkConnect or something like that. so i don't know if that could be a problem...

if anyone on a LAN has Privoxy and Tor working i'd really appreciate some help. 🙂
