I've got a WD mypassport that I have used for a 2009 MBP. I cleared out the old useless files from backing up on my old MBP, so it's OK to use....
However, I am fairly certain that there was a program associated with my external hard drive. I believe I had to type in a password to use the program. Will my external hard drive 'behave' differently with my new MBP?
I can't remember the program, but I remember the icons associated with the program quite well.
Am I making things unnecessarily hard on myself. I remember a window when things were being backed up that had two bars that measured the progress of the back-up and possibly the retrieval.
