Mobility 9000 vs Mobility 9700

I can only point you to to web sources - ATI's web site will list the specs, barefeats.com will have Mac benchmarks and Tom's Hardware Guide obviously has good info on both specs and benchmarks (they are all PC but much of the info applies to the Mac as well)

Oh, and the short answer: the 9700 will be a LOT faster in every way.

Maybe if no one has one, you could construct one for the rest of the MacRumors community for the future

I don't have figures for all the clock speeds, since Apple can clock the parts however the want to. I'll try to gather that info from my 9000 chipset, but I still need someone with a 9700 (64MB and/or 128MB) to give me their speeds.

I want a Radeon 90002 too!

I'm not sure. I couldn't find anything officially from ATI, only from pre-release specs from tech sites (that I don't frequent, so I dont know the reliability).

I'll redo the chart tomorrow, hopefully with some clock/memory speeds... the download link for the app I need isn't working today.

Okay... Updated with 9000 clock speeds, some reorganization and typo fixes I still need someone with a Radeon 9700 to download the App ATIccelerator II, install it, and run it just to see what clock speeds it reports. Having someone with a 64MB and 128MB variant might be nice...
