I have a new Macbook Pro 13" retina. I have my ssd drive and external backup drive displayed on the desktop. I want to be able to watch the free space on the sdd, so I have "Show item info" selected. However, the entire string of information is not displayed. Currently it says: "499.2...GB free" As you can see, the information in the middle has been replaced by "...". I have tried playing around with the font size but that does not fix it. Any suggestions?

In Finder, click on View>Show View Options>Adjust Grid spacing, see screenshot.

Have you tried a Google search on your problem? It took me all of 10 seconds to find multiple links and possible workarounds.

For example:

Yes, I did. Read quite a few topics at Apple Discussions as well. Sometimes you just can't come up with the right search words/criteria. Thankfully some folks here are a bit more patient.

Thanks justperry. Worked like a charm. 🙂
