OS Upgrade to 10.8

Hi,

I'm currently running os 10.6.8 and thinking it's time to upgrade my os to 10.8. I can do this two ways. First buying the Lion and then Mountain Lion or directly upgrading to 10.8.

Do I lose something when I skip 10.7 and directly upgrade to 10.8 or is it the same?
