DIY Fusion Drive: Clean install of OSX or restore from SuperDuper?

I'm thinking about doing a DIY fusion drive with OS X 10.8.3 on my new Mac Mini.

For those of you that have experience with this, should I do a fresh OS X install or is it OK if I clone over to an external drive with SuperDuper, then restore it back after the fusion drive is created?

Edit: The cloned install would be the one I'm currently using which is a totally patched up 10.8.3 install.
